Test drive of the new Ferrari F8 Spider

Earlier this year, the Italian company Ferrari presented a luxurious F8 Spider roadster, which can spoil the mood of the main competitors in the form of open versions of Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 Turbo S. At first glance, the novelty is enough to fall in love with this insanely beautiful and nourishing supercar. The highlight of this model is the fact that it is most likely the latest model of Ferrari with a gasoline engine without any other auxiliary units. But sadly, rather at the wheel of this real supercar.

Many fans of the Italian automaker have complained about the transition from naturally aspirated 12- and 8-cylinder engines to turbocharged engines, but even they are now shocked by the fact that soon the Italians will start producing electric cars. However, right now the technology of turbo engines is flourishing, which demonstrates simply phenomenal indicators of power and economy at the same time. Compared to its predecessor, the model with an index of 488, the coupe and roadster F8 are characterized by weight loss, more power and the advent of new modern technologies. The new Ferrari F8 has all the necessary virtues of supercars and is able to set standards not only among classmates but also for more exclusive hypercars. However, in the summer we decided to try on the road only the F8 Spider roadster, which confidently steps in the direction of competitors Lamborghini Aventador Roadster та Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.

The test car is very suitable for the yellow color, which emphasizes any female owner of this roadster. Sharp as a blade, the front of the body is the envy of pedestrians, and car owners still look more behind this supercar. In our opinion, it is the back that has a very attractive appearance. First, behind the front seats is a unique 8-cylinder turbo engine with a capacity of 3.9 liters. The sound of this engine is not just crazy, it drives everyone crazy who is not indifferent to the art of motoring. The roof of the roadster folds behind the blues in just 14 seconds, offering a magnificent view of the F8's powerplant.

When you press the red button to start the engine, a miracle happens - a monster with a power of 711 hp wakes up. and 770 Nm of torque. Thanks to a system called Adaptive Performance Launch, torque is dosed to more efficiently implement traction on the wheels during start-up. Torque control and ultra-fast operation of the gearbox allow the supercar to overcome the mark of 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds. The gears are shifted automatically very quickly, so when accelerating the driver and passenger experience significant overload.

In addition to a quick start, the test Ferrari F8 Spider is able to overcome turns and even sideways with high quality and confidence. Sliding control has become a necessity due to the fact that the car has a rear-wheel drive and constantly provokes a fast ride. If you press the accelerator pedal too actively, you can immediately feel the work of electronic assistants, which will not allow you to lose control of the car. The steering wheel has a smaller diameter due to which the reactions to the steering wheel have become much sharper and more sporty. Compared to its competitors, the new F8 Spider feels more aggressive and fast, able to run racing games. Pleasant sensations of touch on the controls remain with us throughout the test drive, so this roadster gets maximum marks.

Almost all people who are not indifferent to cars recognize the new Ferrari F8 Spider as a very beautiful and stunning supercar, but it should also be noted the interior of the car which captures no less than the bright exterior. On the exterior, we saw the desire of the Italians to make a modern supercar technological and sophisticated, and in the middle it remains ergonomic and sporty down to the smallest detail. Unlike competitors, minimalism and the rejection of unnecessary equipment prevail here. However, comfort is present here, because the buyers of these cars want to get in addition to sports and high quality finishes.

The interior of the F8 Spider features an original style and retro-style architecture. But there is little room for infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay. Almost all the car's controls are focused on the steering wheel, which houses all the functions on a special mode switch called Manettino.

The first and not the winner is the German pragmatic supercar Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, which thanks to the quality and value for money beats any opponent. Finally, a little about the price, in the basic version of the Ferrari F8 Spider in the European market is estimated at 270 thousand euros…
